Original Private Snafu

Private Snafu was the title character of a series of U.S. Army informational films made to teach service members with poor literacy skills. They taught lessons on morale, malaria, security, sanitarian, and other military subjects.

Created by Frank Capra (producer/director of It’s a Wonderful Life) when he was chairman of the U.S. Army Air Force First Motion Picture Unit. They were written by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss), Philip D. Eastman (writer of Go , Dog, Go), and Munro Leaf (writer of Ferdinand the Bull). Directed by Chuck Jones (producer of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies) and voiced by Mel Blanc (Bugs Bunny).

Now Private Snafu lives in the world of public domain and you can watch many of the cartoons on YouTube. Below are my copyrighted illustrations of Snafu.
